Lyons Township High School Show - 28 March 2009

The BTS continues its annual presence at the spring Lyons Township train show.  This year we benifited by the rewiring of the modules to improve electrical continuity between the modules.  This year the Society enjoyed better running and a better opportunity to enjoy running trains and entertain the public.

Once again Don Buchanan hs contributed a number of his pictures of the show:

Here is John Derler's station modules, a two module set.

Southland Model Train Show - 25/26 October 2008

Once again The British Train Society had a static display at the recent Southland Model Train Show  held at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Avenue in Oak Lawn, Illinois

This year we added a third module, Robin Ross' Rossthorne module in addition to the Viaduct and George Rowland's Mill modules.  This year we also added a reversing control module to add movement to the display.  A particular crowd favirite was John’s LNER Bachmann J72 which would go right to the edge before stoppng.  The children enjoyed watching the locomotives approach the edge, each time wondering if they would stop or fall off.  The static display included a number of locomotives and other items.  The Society also showed a number of looping DVDs of British railroad activity.

Here are some pictures of the event courtesy of Don Buchanan.

In all it was another sucessful show; we look forward to the next one.
